P3 and P4 were delighted to welcome back Local Historian Una Walsh! Una told us all about the history of Glassdrummond Church and how the tower came from Ravensdale Castle nearly 100 years ago!
We learned about the first building of our school and Una also shared a picture of boys and girls attending our school in 1927-1929! Our parents will be able to find some familiar names and faces in these photos.
Una told such wonderful stories of local life in years gone by. We were so interested in to hear about school life, going to mass and family celebrations when Una was a young child.
Many thanks to Una and we look forward to more lessons in our local history!
