Measuring ðŸ“
We have been busy learning about measurement. First, we measured different classroom items with our pencils, then, we measured the width and length of the classroom with our hands and feet- we came to the conclusion that our pencils, feet and hands are all different sizes and we needed to introduce a measuring tool to help us be more accurate. We decided to use a meter stick. Next, we estimated whether items would be shorter, longer or about one meter long. Then we worked in pairs and made our page 1 meter long, first we measured it with a ruler then cut of the excess paper, finally, we drew our fish about 1 meter long and coloured them in. We will explore using rulers next.. we already know there are 100cm in 1 meter!
